What's the crack there like? Surely not going to cause me any bother is it
I'm no expert, but I'm sure it's 'Criminal Convictions', not cautions.
And not spent convictions either.
Me mate went about 5 years? ago, mebes a bit more?
He had a quite serious conviction a few years previously, got a suspended jail sentence.
He had to go to the US Embassy, for an 'interview'.
A few questions and a quick appraisal.
Got in nee bother (Although having to do it in the first place is a bit of a pain in the arse like).
didn't cause me any mate, that was drug offences when i was a few years younger.
Just don't say anything when you fill the form in
Its convictions mate.....you`ll be ok
They have no access to our records. If you don't tell them they won't find out
Who the fuck wants to go to America?I do but cant afford it
Me. Thanks for the responses lads, I'll say nowt!
EDIT: seen the White text, I'll take some photos for you mate
This ^^^^ You need to fill in the esta form now before you go and costs 15 sovs I think
You're right you're no expert. They want to know about any arrests or convictions for crimes involving moral turpitude. They don't recognise the concept of "spent" convictions. It is hard to get a caution without first being arrested so the question will be whether the crime involved moral turpitude.
If it did then the person is ineligible for the VWP and will have to go to the embassy like your mate.
so what your saying is say nowt
sat nowt, my mate got arrested in america for being drunk and disorderly, he told them at the embassy went through all this extra shit to find out it didn't get logged onto a computer somewhere, he had to do a fitness test aswell, haha
no it wont
I got in no problem 10 years ago when I first came over.
Arrested, charged and bound over for a year, nothing to serious.
As I answered a yes for a question on the form you fill in, I had to have an interview in London. All sorted and I got the nod to travel.
Not sure its any different now to be honest, if its drugs you may have a problem as you will with terrorism and chavness other than that I think you should be fine.
Just call the US Embassy or look over the website for the correct info.
Enjoy your trip!
Loads of us went over when Sunderland played there about 6 years ago and about half of our group had some kind of conviction. No one said owt and everyone got in no problem at all.
Mind I think the Feds have more to worry about some pisshead getting nicked when trying to get into Portman Road like
you better now marra
I went to NYC last year, filled out the ESTA form and said yes to the question "have you been arrested", I had to go down to London (twice) because the wonderful NP didnt give me the correct letter to prove I wasnt charged with anything. You also need a police certificate from down Southampton i think which is £35 and takes a while to come through.
Overall it cost me a fortune for the trips to London and to round it off i didnt get the Visa back in time so I had to change my flights and hotel at even more expense.
Unless your a armed robber or drug dealer (convicted) id say nowt, but if they do stop you and question you and find out youve been aressted then its classed as a federal crime and youll be locked up over there!!
They can not find out as they do not have access to British Police records.
Sort of. Nee drink for a week now and feel loads better for it.
The days of drinking until I pass out then getting up for work at 6.30 have got to end marra....
