Stamford Bridge for the sheer thuggery and Sid James for the significant number of personal injuries.
palace away 78-9???
millwall away 74?
I have seen would have to be 85 Milk Cup at Chelsea without a doubt......
According to Northumbria Police it must have been Central Station after the Hearts game
Chelsea me poor dad said "wish I was out of here with a brocken leg" terrifying night
Paul Hardyman on John Burridge.
Lets have some descriptions of the events lads, I'm interested.
Altidore vs Hutton
Bit of a tussle for possession near the touchline resulting in both going over. Hutton is 1st up and proceeds to chuck the ball at Altidore's back. Jozy leaps up and butts Hutton in the face. Both sent off, Hutton harshly dealt with imo
I've only ever seen one massive brawl outside the SOL. That was against Cardiff City back in 2005. I've never seen any serious violent incident's against the Mags purely because there is too much police presence around the outside of the SOL for it to kick.
Me and the old bloke were in the south stand for the last derby at the SOL. My seat was the closest seat to the Mags baring the polis. I was stood right next to one plod. My dad reckoned one of the mags chucked a 2 pence piece off the back of his head. We were in the lower tier and the Mags had more seats in the upper tier hence them being able to throw stuff directly down at us. Towards the end of the game, the riot polis were deployed. When all of our lot were invading the pitch, the riot polis started pushing us towards the end of the row. The riot plod for my row drew his baton and attempted to hit the back of my leg to try and get me to fall/trip. I got out of the way in time.
I wouldn't call the second example violence because nothing really kicked off between the two opposing fans.
Bit of a sheltered life mate?
Seen loads over the years the Bath lane shit was serious, Boro in 74 in the pissing rain was not pleasant, but for prolonged bother it has to be Chelsea 75/76 season. They've actually got a chapter in one of their books about it called "Malice in Sunderland"
There was bother before the match at Seaburn station and around the Bluebell area. We won 2-1 brilliant goal from Longhorn, but there was fucking hell on after the match, remember them being trapped in a back lane and one fat skinhead with yellow sta-prest and DMs trying to rally them "come on Chelsea"
and this Sunderland lad just runnining up and smacking him with one of those old galvanised dust bin lids.
They'd come for bother and by fuck they got it.
Easily the most violence I've seen. Should have been a night of celebration but I didn't even smile from leaving the ground to getting through the door of my mate's flat in Sarf London.
I jumped on a supporters coach and got off at Marble Arch, thanks whoever it was
cant remember the year but remember it being west ham on an evenin kick off, was mental, coppers smackin everyone, me bro got whacked by several coppers and mauled by a dog, west ham fans fared much worse tho
my my, if carlsberg did violence!!
So what did you expect us to do? allow ourselves to be walked all over?
thread pops up often, think mine would be probably Rangers at Sunderland
Was anyone at Birmingham in 96? Was hairy for anyone who had to leave the coach park and into thousands of angry brummies, as we did. Luckily we had no colours on but some of our lot weren't so fortunate. At Roker there always seemed to be hell on when Wolves or Forest came, but nowt compared to the bath lane/chelsea incidents the older lads are speaking of
Separate names with a comma.
