Remember them singing YNWA over it years ago, might even have been the final against us.
take that you shitbag twats
then youd deserve a fuckin slap
In 2002 the French Cup final was delayed for 20 minutes when Jacques Chirac demanded an apology from sections of the crowd who had boo'd la Marseillaise. The game eventually went ahead, don't think Chirac ever got an apology.
They shouldn't play divisive political anthems before football matches, sport is meant to be 'neutral'.
It's not divisive it's our own countries national anthem which when I last checked a map Liverpool was part of.
Just sums them up doesnt it. Happy to take all the money the country generates.
Should cut them off and kick them over to Ireland.
Of course you would
so you reckon everyone is happy with the royal family & believes in god in this country then?
he means if everyone else did
not the fuckin point man. its the national anthem, if you dont like it you dont like it, booing it is fuckin pathetic
Its called respect, about time people remember this.
Its a Christian country with a monarchy, if you dont like it move somewhere else.
not the point
For being anti-monarchy? Do fuck off.
for booing the anthem. dickhead
missed the point. I agree that you shouldn't boo it, However it IS politically divisive & shouldn't be used as our anthem
which wasn't my point, see above
So yes, for being anti-monarchy. The idea that in this day and age people should sing their allegiance to a monarch is embarrassing. I'm neither patriotic nor pro-monarchy, I don't see why I'd do anything different.
I've no idea why Liverpool were booing but that would be my reason.
National anthems are divisive because they're bound up in political and ideological presuppositions regarding an imagined community. Further to this you have to ask whether its entirely appropriate or necessary for the singing of a song which calls for an imagined omnipotent being to cast grace and health upon the head of an archaic institution which has no place in a progressive society before the start of a game of football.
Is the Queen even there? Does she even like football?
you wouldnt boo unless everyone else did and you know it. you can have your opinions but booing it is pathetic and you would deserve a punch in the mouth
for you , thats your opinion
the majority in this country are pro royal
anyway its not really about that, its about the country and people as a whole
For this reason alone i'd like to see Chelsea score another 3
So its OK to believe it but not to express it? What difference does it make...
