Gus Poyet has voiced concerns over our current squad’s ability to ensure Premier League survival as he suggests that five new players could arrive during the January transfer window. Yes, transfer malarkey has started already and this summer’s busy antics aren’t about to let up. The number of players is not exactly surprising, but it speaks volumes when coupled with Poyet’s reluctance to play most of our summer recruits.

At least a new spine to the team quality centre half, quality centre midfielder, quality forward then more in the summer presuming we are in the premier league.

Its a fuking guessing game and that article has just named all positions to strengthen haha I can do that
I think we need a full back , centerhalf , midfielder , and a winger , erm , a striker too , there you go ! Im a journalist

It's actually difficult to argue against this. It pretty much does say that just with more words.

Indeed that's exactly what it does........
Where as he actually said we need five players as well...............??


What has said is "
What I’m sure of is that we are on a par with any team below, say, the bottom 13.
“I don’t think we are necessarily any better or any worse than any of those bottom seven sides in the division.
“So I don’t think there is too much in it when it comes to the difference in the squads at the bottom of the table."
 
The original post completely depends on how ambitious we are


Why settle at 5?

If we have any ambition to get into Europe, or win something we'll need to replace a lot more than that

like it or not bardsley is doing a very good job there thus far. i would say cm is and has been our most pressing position for 3 years now.

Erm, I don't see any journalists or anyone pretending to be a journalist on the site? Its a fan blog - and even says so when you go onto it. The rest is your opinion fella and you're entitled to it, but I suggest you take the post for what its meant to be...someone's (my) opinion...nothing more...and if you agree (which you seem to) - super.

We have a few options in midfield Cattermole, Colback, Ki, Larsson, recall N'Diaye. We have an ageing John O Shea and Wes Brown at the back Roberge and Diokite aren't good enough.
Phil Bardsley is a right back.
We only have Dossena who is a specialist left back who is the wrong side of 30 and is poor.
We have'nt had a specialist left back of our own for seasons just players filling in or loans.
We desperately need a left back two centre halves then the midfield.
Hopefully this will all come at once.
We need players all over the park don't we?
