Gives Cattermole & Jones a bit more time to be fit for Villa, and then we can rest Brown & reintroduce Cattermole for that game, as well as a cameo for Giaccherini and the return of Wickham (and Rodwell will get the nod over Gomez in 1 of them aswell). Should be enough to juggle the squad and keep people fresh.
 
I would say it's doubtful that Brown will play both, considering he's already been rested for 1 of 2 games close together this season. Hopefully Jones is back, but he might only be asked to play one too. Same as Catts... I could possibly see Seb getting a rest in one game too, just because he runs himself into the ground every game. Fletcher is another one with some fitness issues, and Wickham is already missing one.

I expect Pantilimon, Vergini, O'Shea, Johnson to definitely start both.

Do we know what the story is with Reveillere?

What makes people think jones will somehow get a game?
Hasn't even played for u21's / reserves yet has he ?

Can see Bridcutt for Catts, plus no Wickham of course V Hull…then can see Connor coming in for Fletcher at Villa
 
Play the strongest side we can against Hull without a thought to the Villa match.

imo this will be a big test for us.

Last season we lost too many home games against poor sides we should have beaten - so we ended up having to do it the hard way which we can't rely on being able to do again.

This is only our second home match against a team in the bottom 9. Most of these will come to defend with the hope of nicking a goal. Breaking down teams that set up to that can be difficult, we need to be doing it.

Make any changes needed due to knocks/tiredness/rotation/suspension for the Villa match.

Apart from Rodwell in for Gomez in one of the games I'd agree with this.
 
Why would we play a centre half right back and a right back, left back?

Surely it would be better to switch Vergini back in the middle with Brown, O'Shea left back and play Jones in his best position at RB.

We have to beat Hull, play our best available team.
 
I'm pleased to see that Bridcutt is no longer seen to be shite/useless but recognized as good cover and even support for Catts.
