would personally love theese signing , what do you think ?
may have to rewrite your wish list
yes, yes, no, yes, FUCK NO, aye/aye
Talking a lot of money for that little lot though.
tek all them like
Wouldnt everyone, but we need a Left Back not 2 Centre Backs, Taarabt will not suit us Sessegnon will be our CAM next season, Nzogbia may be a possibility. At some point Ba will get seriously injured his knee is just holding out. Pav isnt the most prolific of goalscorers and would cost a decent fee and Sturridge would be class but unrealistic.Yes to Samba But apart from that we should get them.
Yes that would be nice, however another 17 teams could be thinking the same!
yes to all :-D add in carlton cole and hitzlsperger and that would be a good summers window and a back up goalkeeper also
Pass the mushrooms.
that you're in for a big big let down
It's going to be a long summer.
I don't think that Short will release that sort of money. Read the papers, listen to the press releases from the club. The sublime message is kids, kids, kids, that's why Bruce is here and that's why he will stay. He's balancing the books, we've tried loans, now for the championship plodders (Bothroyd), the not too good premiership players (Doyle), the permanently sick (Ba) and, of course Henderson says that there's a long line of kids following up. There might be but as I've always said too many kids will take you down.
Bruce out, I wish, SHORT CHANGED, WE ARE!
a lot of truth in this
Strange, two different threads with a number of different players and in one thread we are definitely signing players we've been linked with and it's an outrage and in the other thread we are definitely not signing players we've been linked with and it's an outrage.
Sturridge - Yes
Taraabt - Hope not. Will be found out again in the premier league
Ba- yes, as long as he can pass a medical
Samba - love him to sign but will probably end up at Arsenal
Evans - No, hasn't come on enough since he left us
Think we have to get the balance right, why keep spending and spending and getting the same results, I firmly believe we can only persuade a certain type of player to SAFC though I'm not sure why this is but constantly throwing money at it won't leave the club in good hands. We set an academy up to save on this, there is no reason why Henderson Colback Noble Lang etc can't get into the team and improve it. Despite the hatred towards Henderson who has been brilliant overall when he has come into the 1st team he has shown the other lads what can be done. We are starting to see the emergence of Colback now.
Time to face it we will never persuade the top tier of players to come to the club it's whether we get enough of the next tier of players to compete. We need the no nonsense types like Craig Gardner, Samba, Cahill, konchesky, Reo Coker etc to make us a solid unit. We are too easy to beat look at Stoke full of ex SAFC who got hounded out yet they look solid an have that type of character and find themselves in the Europa League.
Gary Glitter has come to that conclusion as well, I believe.
I see no reason why Ellis Short would not be prepared to invest heavily in the playing squad. A failure to do so would likely lead to relegation and the termination of the significant TV revenues. He is a businessman and I would anticipate that he will not want to jeopardise his existing investment and miss out on future multi-million pound payments from Sky by penny-pinching on improving an obviously inadequate squad (in terms of both numbers and quality)
However, I agree with your assessment of Bothroyd, Doyle and Ba. The club needs to demonstrate much greater ambition to rekindle the interest of the fans
Thats why hes still at Man Utd
Equally, he probably didn't become successful by hoying good money after bad. It's more like "I've spent a fortune here, Mr Quinn, Mr Bruce...you got me into this mess - you get me out of it" He will only spend minimally. And I would do exactly the same.
