He's really not as bad as people make out. HE's gone from being overrated (due to playing for Man United) to underrated (due to being completely slated, pretty much to a man). Two successful loan spells when he was young, too.

The England national team need some players playing in other countries. It's a mix of styles that are putting some national teams ahead of England. England are stuck into one way of playing.

That's a good analogy I reckon. Barry was slated for England for not doing things that he wasn't meant to be doing in the first place, and became a real scapegoat. But then he goes somewhere like Everton, where he can do his job properly and have other players around him that can do theirs as well, and he flourishes. Same might be true for Cleverly once he gets out of the spotlight at United.
