Should Sunderland fans be envious of Newcastle United’s transfers?

Why would any SAFC fan be envious? If I try to look objectively, the squads of both clubs are probably much of a muchness, it's just the level of delusion at NUFC is much much higher.

People clearly haven't read the article looking at the responses.

Given that the author questions Mbemba's age (he seemingly has several birth dates), that he might well not be given a work permit and says the Belgian and Dutch leagues are an awful proving ground for knowing what a player will be like in the Premiership.

Of course everyone will say "no" - but when WE were first linked to Winjaldum, the desperation was embarrassing - "he'll be the best midfielder we've ever had", etc.
Mitrovic and Winjaldum have the potential to be better than anyone we've signed in years - although few will now admit it - and it's time serious questions were asked of our recruitment policy...

Don't feel like reading the article, but not particular envious of a side that finished one point ahead, and who have only signed a striker, a midfielder, a defender and have Mclaren as manger. Prefer our manager and squad over theirs as it currently stands.

Mbemba sounds like the classic Newcastle European defender signing. You've never really heard of him, yet as soon as he signs it's spun that they've pulled off some kind of wonderful coup ( Currently being described "The best defender in Belgium" by them), and they almost all turn out to be shite. See Cacapa, Rosenthal. Boumsong, Santon, Yanga-Mbiwa and Haidara in the past few years. Graham Carr is bound to find one in the end but generally he doesn't seem able to spot a decent defender to save his life.

Most fans are envious, thats why unfortunately everytime theyre linked with someone theres a 50 page topic. If people werent arsed they woudnt post
That's not the reason at all.
Most of those threads contain a huge number of Mags, undercover Mags and WUM's who firstly post their discussions on the player but then continuously antagonise regular Sunderland supporters into comments before the whole thing descends into petty arguments usually not even related to the player in question which then rumble on for about forty-five of the fifty pages!
