dont shoot me down but (wheres that tin hat?)....
bob murray MK11 regarding his spending policy now?
MK 11? What happened to the other ones?
Nowt better to think about ...... try ITV, Harry Hill's TV Burp
Running a football club is a business, not a entertaining hobby. Unless your Mansour at City. Short want's to make money, and rightly he has from the sales of Bent and Henderson. He does invest each season, but does not want the fans to expect him to keep spunking money into the club and getting back nothing in return.
That was the problem with Drummaville, they spunked about 40-50 million into the club when they were here, but got nothing back because the signings had no re-sale value or turned out to be crocked shite.
Short is totally different to Murray also, considering his policy was a 10 million budget and very small wage limit.
There is a sensible business model in place, that ensures we won't become the next Pompey. There's no way we can possibly compete with the elite on a level playing field. Like it or lump it. Personally I'm lumping it; the modern game has lost a lot of it's appeal to me. I feel emotionally remote & to some extent disinterested. I still follow the lads but it ain't the same any more.
We have moved on miles since Murray was here in terms of quality.
I doubt we could of attracted the likes of Bent, Sessegnon, Muntari etc under Murray.
two of the three are gone and the third wants off according to sources.
According to one source actually, and 98% believe it to be utter bullshit.
Bent - Would of liked him to stay, but we couldn't turn down 24 million.
Muntari - Glad we never made the deal permanent, lazy as fuck.
You and me and many others.
So? We still attracted those "next level" type of players. Darren wanted out and £20m + is a lot of money. And RE: Sess - don't believe everything you read on tribal football or whatever it is.
Not sure how we can fault Short at all. Under murray would we ever spend 16 and 13 million on two forwards? I dont think so. Im sure we could go and spend big but its not a realistic/long term option (see pompey/leeds).
Again in the summer Bruce was backed, spending big, 12/13 million on Whickham. Yes we sold henderson for 20 million... Who wouldnt?
Short has been the best thing that has happened to this club for a long time imo
Did Murray ever have that sort of money to spend ?
If not its a bit of a pointless comparison.
Eh? The OP said Short is Murray Mk11. Why is that remark unfair then?
Oh fuck off. You're trying to think again aren't you. Doesn't fucking suit you. Fuck off.
Just had to explain why laughing out loud at a computer screen. I hate having to explain myself. Fuck you, you very funny bastard
You state here running a football club is a business.
Yet on another thread you advocate spending c. £35m in the January window.
You are thick as fuck.
The poster I was replying to said he was not sure how you could fault Short, then went on to say Murray would not have spent £30 + mill on 2 forwards.
Murray probably did'nt have the money to do that so its a pointless comparison.
I doubt Short has personally made a single penny since he took the club over.
Separate names with a comma.
