Theres dozens of excuses as to why safc/other clubs crowds are down but surely this is a key one. You cant relate to anyone anymore, they become terrace favourites such as Cisse, Cana, Bent and then at the blink of an eye, theyre gone. This isnt a dig at the club in any form, its just the way the game has gone. How can you form some kind of affinity with the players when bar the shite we sign who linger for years, most move on within 2-3 seasons. The days of players sticking around a decade are long gone and the game is worse for it in my humble opinion. Us mugs just line the pockets of the hundreds of journeymen who are milking the top flight dry whilst the lower leagues are on their knees. However, sometimes Id sooner support a Yeovil, Stevenage, Burton etc. for the above reasons. Saying that, I guess each of their players would feck off for a few extra quid at the drop of a hat. Sad times.
