Scariest horror films? Ring? Grudge?

Lots of great movies in there. I had to frown at the ludicrously high placing of Shaun Of The Dead (7th) and Scream (3rd) though. WTF? Good movies fair enough, but neither deserve such reverential positioning in a list of "best Horror movies" IMO, especially being above the likes of The Exorcist, The Omen, Nosferatu and so many other classics.

The best

The original Omen film is one of the few horror films hat still scares me when it come on

Bllie Whitelaw as the demonic nanny is chilling stuff

2 and 3 are very good too from what I can remember, though admittedly it's been probably 20 years since I watched either of them.

I fancy watching something scary tonight.

I've never seen any of The Ring or The Grudge series. Are they any good?

I have no idea about how many of each of them have been made, or which of them started off as foreign then got remade by Hollywood, so if anyone could clue me in on which I should bother watching of these and if it's worth it at all, that'd be awesome. :)

Otherwise... recommend me another scary horror film to watch!

(Please!)
I know it's a day late but if you're looking for a scary movie try "fourth kind " I'm not one for scary films but this had me shitting myself

The Exorcist not being in the top ten is a bit cheeky like, one of my favourite films of any genre there.

Mentioned above already, but Blood on Satan's Claw is very creepy.

Don't know if they particularly count as horror, but Hard Candy and The Tortured certainly leave you feeling as if your soul needs defrosting afterwards.
