The echo reckons we won't go for the Celtic lad.
"Both Celtic and Sunderland sources insist no formal offer has been made for van Dijk and the Black Cats are unlikely to splash out such a figure before the end of the window, with the club now predominantly concentrating on loan deals."

What would people have as the back 4 with this available, I cant decide
It would give us loads of options depending on form/fitness/opposition. It would start with:

Vergini JOS Brown PVA

Then maybe evolve into:

Vergini Toby Van Dijk PVA

We would have options for the first time not worrying about injuries.

Hmm, with Roberge and Diakite going we're very low on numbers at the back. There must be at least two defenders lined up to be able to let these leave.

that doesnt make sense - why make an enquiry unless you had the money to buy him

So, by the end of this window, all bar Giaccherini and Altidore from Di Fanti's mob will be gone...

Shit newspaper in 'making it up as they go along' shocker...
they keep spouting the same line so they must be getting it from somewhere, probably disinformation from the club to throw them off the scent after these agents leak stuff out

Mannone & Mavrias were his signings too, right?

It's Martin O'Neill's which we want shot of now!

If Congerton can manage to shift the remaining deadwood; Diakite, Cabral, Graham and now as it looks Roberge too, I think he would have completed a minor miracle, as these piss poor players were allegedly on good contracts, dished out by Di Fanti & Co.

How many would that make it, having left or been released since the end of last season? 18….amazing!

A tight 23 man squad as Poyet wanted with no excess crap hanging around would be outstanding business with hopefully no 'bad apples'.

Not there yet, but these 3/4 out and 3/4 gooduns to come in as rumoured and this would have been an outstanding window IMO.
