Bit of a mixed reaction on there TBH.
Yes, SAF let JOS go a year too early IMO. No complaints from here!
less than a week ago there was barely a good word to say about him on here.
Or the silent majority did not comment
was no rush to defend him
it's amazing what happens when you put players in their correct positions.
He's been crap bar these last couple af games....
I was thinking about this last night.
Man Utd have a few good young players who will become great- though they're being tested. O'Shea and Brown may have had uneasy starts here but they were valued at Man Utd as players who could be trusted.
They wouldn't have been roughed up quite as much if these two were playing for them last night.
I think he's been alright in all honesty, I never really take the word of the SMB as gospel. Anyway, there's no doubt if he was still at Utd he'd have played a lot of games this season. However I doubt he'd have played as many as he has for us so he should be happy ish
As a defender JoS hasn't been as bad a people make out, his passing on the other hand has been terrible.
though it was the midfield that let them down last night. but still- they'd have coped better imho, with oshea and brown
at rb definitely.
at cb, it's much easier for him to find a pass and on the whole he has to find and make passes less frequently as Cb's seek to clear first and foremost.
best position- cb
Yes, he's been excelent there.
he got injured in our first pre season game and was out for few weeks so missed pre season really. Playing right back initially his lack of match fitness was shown up and his passing was wayward too..
..huge improvment last few weeks though and CB certainly seems to suit him more. Defensively very solid at the mo. Twas him who set Bentdner off for our third the other night wasn't it with a great pass too.
He has been awful at fullback , so much better at his best position of centreback.Hence the change in apreciation fo him.
This. Although the gobshites and doom mongers are generally the loudest anyways. Eeeehhh, a sound just like Des.
Some posters on RedCafe want Fergy sacked ffs
Expectation were high for O'Shea but from FB he can't really use his experience to influence the game.
I couldn't understand why Bruce played him at RB.
And get them fully fit
Most of them saying they should have kept him on as cover but the extent of their injury crisis at the back couldn't really be predicted.
Has been shite at RB for us but good since moving to CB in the past few games.
Interesting to see Meyler and O'Shea in the away end for the mags game
was shite at right back has drastically improved in the centre and under O'Neill not sure he was worth the price tag tbh but we'll see.
