What are they so high compared to the private sector? Is it yet another scam they have?
they work with sick people, hopitals & care homes and more likely to pick an ilness per chance?
Some of them do, some of them don't
10 days a year part of their leave entitlement
My god when you add those 10, its even worse
Good luck to them, it's a canny perk.
I might pose as a doctor and get me some of that.
just went to a retirement do of a bloke at work recently( public sector) who in 41 yrs hadn't had 1 day sick
Sickness levels where I work are very good, one year our boss took the ten of us out on the piss( his treat) as not one of us had a days sick in the year...but then again that's not the story people want to hear about lazy civil servants and their gold plated pensions
are you kidding me? pre agreed sick days?
If there is a statistical difference, then the management up to the government should be brought to book.
bullshit...there is no such entitlement
Well done mate. At last a positive story. Shame the bloke worked 41 years at the same place. I take it he had no ambition then and was happy to just tread water all of his life?
The councils up here are starting to mercilessly crack down on them now
Quite brutally in some cases - especially West Lothian Council
about fucking time if you ask me
there isn't, but some people do take the piss.
Mind one of my mates (private sector) is always off sick
Not really, enjoyed his job, started as a clerical grade straight from A levels and had a good few promotions in a job he enjoyed...not really anything to sneer at as far as I'm concerned
When I joined many moons ago they told you about all the stuff leave, flexi, unions etc etc and then one of lads said don't forget you can have 10 days sick a year without getting a warning/being looked into.
They get full sick pay. When I worked for a Uni I made sure I used every last one I could before it would be flagged and I would require a meeting with HR. got to play the system.
A mate of mine works out when he's going to be off "sick" at the start of the year instead of taking holidays. He works for the DWP I think.
I'm sure I'd take advantage if I got sick pay. Never had a job where I got paid on the sick. I lost both hands when disconnecting a socket in Kabul. There was an IED in it. Still turned up for work on the Monday to pull cables in with my teeth.
load of shite...well it certainly is now...down on people like a ton of bricks when certain "trigger" points are set, something like two lots of sick of a few days
Separate names with a comma.
