Spurs and Liverpool put out teams they would against a league 2 team in the League cup last night.
Hope they both lose this weekend, would make going out of Europe even funnier.

Somebody posts this every single night english teams have bad results in europe. Every. Single. Time.

It's the retarded football fan thought process.

Don't forget Blackburn ;)
That was 1994-1995 so the poster, after this season, is correct

That's because there's a reason for that:confused:....Been a lot of bad results in the last few years. Chelsea won it in 2012 (goodness knows how!) but no-one else has come close then

Borussia Dortmund's season so far suggests otherwise...all leagues throw up freak results...

No-one apart from Chelsea, City or Utd has won the league in the past 10 years and if you add Arsenal to that list - no-one else has won it in 20 years.

In fact the number of different winners is exactly the same as La Liga whether taken over 3, 10 or 20 years.
And Germany has 5 different winners in the past 11 years - which is more competitive than either the Prem or La Liga.

So yep - you've had to give up on the quality myth after the top Prem teams keep getting easily beaten in Europe - but you still cling to the competitive one...

The number of winners doesn't really tell the story of how competitive the league is for me. It would be more interesting to look at points disparity across the league.

It's the intelligent, logical football fan process for those who can see past the hype about how the Pl is all that. The amount of side/backward passing, time wasting and general negativity (taking the league as a whole and not just a handful of results) is unbelievable. I also think that this myth about the games being fast paced is just that...a myth. It used to be true but hasn't been for a good three years or so

Edit...the quote didn't come out in full, the poster was complaining about people criticising the Pl every time English teams get outclassed, something that happens a lot now

Even though it was less than 20 years ago like the poster stated? ;)
