Bit on BBC news about how the police in Birmingham are interacting with fans more to make it a better atmosphere. also good that proper fans are informing the police about the trouble makers.
Mind, the west midlands police couldn't get any worse towards football fans
Thought it was the west yorksire or the met that are the worst?

Massive reduction in police number = massive drop in number of arrests, who would have thought?
Wouldn't mind seeing the arrests per copper at the games from both before and after, bet theres not much difference, just less coppers to lock people up for trivial shit.
South Yorkshire are terrible mind.

Met are the best by a mile, deal with public order events day in day out.
It's the likes of Northumbria, West Mids etc that don't get the opportunity to have a ruck very often that like to lord it over footy fans as soon as they see them.
Up at Ponteland when they train them for match day they paint all the foliage etc red and white to get them psyched up[/QUOTE]

West Midlands in my experience, they were notorious in the eighties and early nineties.
West Midlands, and West & South Yorkshire are some of the worst, the MET I find fairly decent when it comes to policing football
The police spotter for Northumbria for Sunderland games posts on here
