I dont understand why BMW made the X6, what is it exactly supposed to be?
A means of transportation
And part of a residual self image
A car, I suppose. All of a sudden 'the point' dawns upon me.
very vulgar in my opinion. it is pointless from a practical perspective. other cars in the range will be faster and/or better off road.
its not pointless if your aim is for lots of people to look at you.
looks like a soft roader based on a rally raider/dakar type machine
providing its meant to be ugly then its a triumph of design
a cross between an offroader & a saloon and aimed at Rover fans etc? I dunno to be honest as only seen the same sporty looking version twice in the flesh and it looked canny from behind.
you could have picked a better colour as it looks crap in that pic yet this black one looks canny! I guess it's the same with most cars as the bottom end look crap but get top end and they look a bit more sporty. The same goes for a few models of the BMW as they are just plain in lower spec models but Sports bumpers or M versions look class
I've just seen that the X6 M does 0-60 in 4.7 seconds!!
wouldn't mind this one in black like!
I guess it's so the owners could laugh at wannabee X6 owners who buy the way cheaper Range Rover Evoque styled by Posh, now that is a pointless car!
And someone on this board is getting one delivered at a cost of £45k!
this is(was) a pointless car(vehicle)
get one for £460!
I had a great time watching a guy in a x6 with the obligatory blonde that was 25 years younger than him making a complete kernt of himself in the car park of Stirling Services during the snow last winter.
I reckon he must have caused £20k plus worth of damage
all that dosh for a car that can;t be driven in snow
Funny I had the exact same thought earlier today whilst behind one of them.
you are kidding me!?!?!
what on earth would possess someone to waste £45K on that as it will probably lose £10K the minute it's taken out the showroom! Even without looking at other options surely it could be better spent?!?!?!
oh well what it must be like to be rich and waste money on a Rover
There is also another crazy fucker who has ordered a £25k Mini!!!
Madness, clearly have money to waste!
Similar to a woman I work with. She goes on and on about her Z4, how it is the best car ever, she is the richest person in the world (2 grades lower than me on the payscale, but gets cash from husband) and we are all poor low life in the gutter.
When the snow came she could not drive anywhere. Got stuck in the car park, came back in the office, threw a big hissy fit, called the work security giving abuse and they rightly said 'not my problem', then shouted "right I'm just going to sit and wait". Did not seem amused at my comment "good plan, it will melt eventually".
After 10 minutes I had finished my jobs for the day, jumped into my wifes little 1.2 Corsa (1/8th of the cost), give her a smile and drove out the car park. She did not come back to work for a week because her car could not handle it. She also worries if she goes out on a lunch time she might not one of her preferred parking spaces, so sits and whinges she can't go out without risking her car getting scratched in the afternoon.
I really don't get the sports car thing. Perhaps I have spent too much time driving, but it seems people pay crazy amounts of money to buy a really expensive car, then worry all the time about where you can park it, where you can drive it and get stuck doing and average of 50-60 on the motorway like the rest of us, not because of engine size, because of the people in front, can't go out in winter, can't fit anything in the boot and ask friends for favours transporting stuff and will drive around for hours looking for a parking space that is not under trees.
If I had the money, I would keep to a sensible car and get a boat. A far better play thing and gives you so many more options. Living by the sea helps with that one like. I just don't understand someone paying so much for something that gives you far less than a cheaper car, other than nice stats that you rarely get to push.
Seen one of these for the 1st time the other day...
much more relevant than that X6 monstrosity imo.
Fuck what Top Gear says...that'a a lovely motor.
Horrible looking thing though.
Those X6's are fuckin arful like.
Saw the Aston Martin version (Cygnet) last week on the A19. Turned off at the Sunderland Echo juntion
