People who use phones when driving

Using a phone while driving should be a one year ban.
Do it again and it should be for life.
It is more dangerous than drink-driving.
And I got 3 pts and a £60 fine for using mine.
(OK I was in a traffic jam outside the SoL on the day we got rid of Brucey. Traffic standing still, but still got done.)
You can get a Bluetooth hands free for a tenner. No excuse.

I see dozens of people everyday using phones and driving. I surprised there's not more crashes

That's a silly offence. It's not legal but not dangerous either.

from using a mobile or driving? ;)
From hearing, stab their ears.

An instant ban for 1 year would work. They should pay cyclists to film the fuckers using their go-pro. £100 for everyone caught, the thousand quid fine would more than cover that!
Speaking of cyclists: Cycling on pavements should earn a knee capping.

Just want to add that age shouldn't be a factor on the cycling thing. Them little fuckers with stabiliser's need to obey the rules too.

I agree with texting and making calls etc when not hands free. But when using one as a sat nav, there is hell on.
Yet program an actual sat nav on the move, which is just as dangerous, and the punishment is nowhere near as severe.

Same goes for coppers on radios etc.

The law needs to be made clearer.

Prison sentence. If you use a phone are you likely to pay for insurance, tax.

Won't happen, but why ban people who don't give a shit about the law?

Was talking about this at work the other day. We agreed on a 6 week driving ban for first offence, 1 year for second, 3 years for 3rd. Didn't get any further than that.
