Only a matter of time werent it, wonder who they will go after.
Phil Brown possibly?
They won 4-0 away from home on Saturday
Aye, hes was always going to go when he failed last season to take them up. Seems a bit daft getting rid like but from afar there always seemed to be something not right with him and the board there.
He must be getting sick of being sacked right now
and 2 days from the transfer deadline. Tremendous decision.
What's the source anway? Nowt on SSN website.
Ssn yellow ticker.
here too http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/8954162.stm
I am sure they had a points deduction last season and still finished in the top half. The owners of this club are clueless. The current chairman has banned all press from taking any photographs inside the ground on matchday, i know the sun calls them the south coast club now because of this. Pardew is a good manager and did a good job at Saints. What they need is a owner who loves the club e.g Niall, someone like Le Tissier who could get a consortium up and running for the good of the club, because the current chairman and previous chairman rupert lowe are clueless
Eh? Didn't they start on -10?
He was still expected to take them up.
Yeah but they set stupidly high expectations
The current owner is freshly 6-foot-under. He died a couple of weeks ago. It seems that there's a power struggle going on to fill the vacuum while the estate is sorted out.
Aye started on -10 points and almost made the play-offs. Did shite.
The owner died a couple of weeks ago so there is probably some kind of board in-fighting going on, until his estate is sorted or the "new owner" sells up. It's a crazy decision to sack a man after a 0-4 away win. They must have somone lined up, as the decision must have been taken before Saurdays game.

bruce out pardew in,
is it a bad day for this??
After starting on -10 points, just missing the play-offs and winning the Johnstones Paint trophy he hardly deserved the sack. They should walk Div 2this season.
Bit harsh - didn't they have a 15 point deduction last season?
The only unrest at Southampton was between the CEO Nicola Cortese and Pardew. He wanted Pardew sacked last season but was talked out of it by the club's owner Markus Leibherr, who has since died. Nothing has changed in the structure of the club since his death. The club was ran by Cortese and still is. The club also remains under the control of Leibherr's family and is not part of his business empire. It was set up as his 'hobby' and remains the same.
His dismissal was personal but put down as for 'football' reasons.
What an absolute disgrace. What the hell is football coming to.
Thanks for that.
