Any one know why the tories are hiding him away?
To be fair its bloody obvious.............
labour wanted to do the same with their prize berk but as hes the PM its a bit more of a problem.........
not as much as a prize berk as DC shirley?!!
Him and Darling been noticable by there absence, is it because they are idiots!
bloody nice bloke tho:-(
Kept in a darkened room because he's a liability. Remarkably, they would let him out again and give him the second most important job in the country.
Because he's election poison and they knows it.
Gideon has to stay in the cellar during daylight hours as the sun, together with wooden stakes and garlic, is his biggest fear.
And that clown the Libs have as Chancellor elect is even worse. Seems like MPs with personability are in short supply.
Vince Cable is one of the most repsected MP's around from all sides.. the only thing he hasn't go is age on his side,...
10 years younger and he would have been leader of the lib dems and really making huge strides forward
Didn't have you down for one to be taken in by spin Epping?
Vince Cable is decent enough but the sage of Twickenham he is not.
All this revisionist stuff about him being the only one to forsee the credit crunch is bollocks.
All he did was state the obvious, which was that Brown's credit fuelled economic boom couldn't go on forever. IIRC he said fuck all about the US housing market, CDOs, etc etc
And for an ex top economist at Shell some of the Lib Dems fiscal policies are economically illiterate to say the least.
I live in Gideon's Tatton constituency, and he hasn't been much in evidence round these parts either. Mind you, there's no need - the good people of Tatton will vote for him in their thousands because he wears a blue rosette and is a bloody good chap. I imagine he's got his feet up in his castle tucking into roast swan, and who can blame him.
Are you for real? Vince Cable is no PR boy, but he was Chief Economist at Shell for years and is the only man in parliament who predicted the debt crisis. If I had to have anyone as chancellor it would be Vince, with Ken Clarke a close second.
"The growth of the British economy is sustained by consumer spending pinned against record levels of personal debt, which is secured, if at all, against house prices that the Bank of England describes as well above equilibrium level?" - Vince Cable 2003
The Lib Dems are the only party who have bothered to cost out their policies. Perhaps we should have you as chancellor if you know better.
