In my experience old people are the most for this, dont even make eye contact with you as they go through the door. Remeber giving ti the "YOUR WELCOME" holding door at Cooper Rose for this one OAP couple and they didnt bat an eyelid.

OAPs are by far the rudest demographic.

Piss stinking miserable owld bastards.
 
How does that exchange work?

Usually ask them if they were "dragged up," with a little smile, then they realise and say please. I've not had anyone not say please afterwards, or smile back in recognition of the fact that manners don't cost anything.

You sound like an arse mate. If you demanded I say please I'd wait for someone else to serve me.




I would have anyway like.

Not at all mate. I don't stand there and tell them they're not getting served until they say please. They realise straight away and it's always good natured. My kids are brought up to say please and thank you, if you're asking for service from someone, you should do the same.
