Appropriate or not?
Wasn't it a minutes applause?
Yeah but we are leeds does not seem to me to show any respect for those that have passed away imo...
Was what the minute's applause for?
For all the fans that passed away in the last 12 months
Edit forgot to quote
was it a particularly cold winter in Leeds?
I thought teams did that at the last home game of the year?
Thats what i thought
We do but its not something all do, isn't ours still a silence? Not keen on applause minutes smacks of a belief that footy fans are incapable of showing respect..
Yes because it was meant to be applause for their own
What a loada bollocks.
Seen as it's people from Leeds then surely chanting 'We are Leeds' is showing solidarity??
^ thats my thoughts
Chanting about supporting Leeds during a minute of noise to commemorate people who support Leeds?
Sick, sick bastards.
Minute of applause been re-named has it? Fair enough most seem to see no problem I just thought it bad taste, probably because I think minutes silence is the proper way to show respect as it actually takes a tiny bit effort! Not the 1st time I've been in the minority like
It's noise as opposed to silence. Were you tutting at the people singing Ian Porterfield's name during his?
Personally I prefer a minute's silence as i think it is the best way of showing respect- bringing a full stadium to silence and taking a minute to actually think about those who are no longer with us is something special imo. However, if Leeds have said they want a minute's applause then, imo, there is nothing wrong with also adding the "we are leeds" chant- it is noisy, of course, but they want noise anyway, and it is an appropriate song to chant- as if to say "you aren't forgotten, you're still Leeds, and we are continuing on the supporting of the football club". Nowt wrong with that as far as I'm concerned
Should have been a minutes applause THEN sing his name imo, more understandable being all about one of our hero's but would still have preferred a minutes silence.
Its supposed to be the new way of cleberating someones life, and cheering for them is celebrating their lives
