Going there tonight, any one recommend any nice bars away from the usual revs and all that malark.
Get yourself to the New Penny, i reckon you'll love it.
the German bar was a canny laugh.
Get yourself down Call Lane. Oporto and Neon Cactus in particular. The best bars in the city are down that way.
As for clubs, Cockpit and Wire are the best two.
BierKeller is fun, there is also a sports bar around there which is worth some time in, if you feel a bit classy there is a few nice bars on Greek Street, also a lloyds pub called Becketts Bank, nice if you can get sat upstairs in there! Some top perving!
There's a Living Room on Greek Street and the private members lounge is top notch. Bit pricey for drinks though.
Is there a load of bars down call lane?
North, sandinista and Adelphi are my usual haunts down there. Oporto and Mojo are canny anarl as is the elbow rooms for a bit of pool and drinking.
I would agree.
Sela is also good.
I also like The Brewery Tap.
Loads of good pubs in Leeds and think there have been many threads on the subject. Think Boro are there tomorrow so avoid the ones around the Station and Northern Monkey.
Probably my favourite.
Yeah, as stated Oporto and Neon Cactus are good, but there's also Jakes, Normans, Call Lane Social, BRB, Brooklyn Bar, Revs.
All decent, thats where I usually end up on a friday night. The street parallel has a bar called Smokestack as well which is good. You can't really go wrong round there to be honest.
Quite a few, and then there's a few on Boar Lane as well, which leads up the centre if you fancy a bit of a crawl and just seeing what there is.
Forgot about that one, excellent bar! Often free live music there as well.
Aye good shout, owned by the sandinista people iirc....andy smith dj's there or used to on a regular friday, not sure it's this one or if he still does, but is a good night....can get rammed like and take an eternity to get served!
Yeah, like it in there.....very much like the Forth in newcastle
Sela's a good shout too....
Aye, the New Penny
Yeah, last time I was in a few weeks ago I was in the upstairs room, but it was quicker to go downstairs each time I wanted a drink.
Its the same as Sandinista and Mojo, quality bars but get too full on a weekend
Sela si good as well.
Was in there last friday, and they had nothing on draft in the room upstairs? Never seen that in a bar for years!
You seem a bit too keen, regular in there?
If you want to venture further into town as well, Nation of Shopkeepers next to The Light (just off the Headrow) is brilliant. Leeds Best on draught which is my favourite pint. Funk/soul night on Friday iirc, some top notch blart if you're after that.
