Used to be a funny and gentle comedy 30 years ago, not the abortion it is now
That's when I probably last watched it. Is Nora Batty still in it ?
They've stopped making it now haven't they?
Shite IMO, always was.
Kato from Pink Panther seems to be in it now
funny when i was a kid, growing up in yorkshire, embarrassing now with blakey and captain peacock etc, still better than my family, life of riley etc
It died when Compo did unfortunately.
I really like the old series, watched a bit of the new one and could not dig it.
When I was a kid, watching it meant the weekend was over, that's probably why I never liked it.
Absolute shite, was alright as a bairn
It did finish..in 2009 I think. But you can catch epidodes from different years on GOLD.
It was originally paired with 'I didn't know you cared' in a 'comedy' double bill.
What a let down from the likes of Porridge + The Two Ronnies or some such combination, to an hour of miserable dour yorky pensioners with shite accents moaning on about their miserable lives. Was always white and a mystery to me that it lasted 30 years when the other show lasted maybe two serieses.
It was never funny and like someone said earlier, it signalled the end of the weekend.
Essentially it was about old blokes messing about, just like Dad's Army. But Dad's Army was really funny.
Never got it. Just seemed daft rather than funny.
The actress who played her died last year.
She is still in it.
