Anyone use these? are they as good as everyone says?
Thinking of getting a couple of 16kg
Don't see what advantages they have over dumbbells unless you are swinging them between your legs.
Great pieces of kit depending on what you want to do with them, can be a good cardio tool aswell. 16kg is canny heavy like but obviously I have no idea how fit/strong you are and what you want to use them for.
Bret Contreras has some stuff on his channel with them I believe:
oROSSo is the SMB's resident expert on Kettlebells
Should sharp grow out of a 16, get a 20 and a 24 too if you can get them together at a discount.
High rep snatches are great fun.
I heard a rumour, not sure where, that oROSSo might know summit about these.
the shape of them and the fact that the weight shifts have benefits over dumbbells
Good for losing weight or building muscle?
What weight should I get?
At least a 16kg or a 20kg.
Cheers. I see people in the gym use them. I feel too silly too...
make sure you check out lots of form videos on youtube,
as Bonsai says, they're good for both, depending on weight and they reckon an average bloke should start with a 16kg.
Id recommend going to a class first, you can fuck yourself up in a big way if you get your posture and that wrong.
would agree its form sensitive but I'm self taught and never even had a niggle just through youtube vids.
Been using them for a while and I have to say most vids on youtube are awful. Very poor from, so much arching in the back. Recommend any good ones?
