Why is there suddenly a limited pot of money? Have you asked yourself where it all went? There are many professions that work equally as hard for a fraction of the pay.
There is a limited pot of money out there and everyone needs to accept that.
I would love doctors ,policeman ,firemen etc to get everything they wished for but how long would it be before we ended up like Greece.
It's time we had a grown up discussion about the NHS.Dread to think where the NHS is going to be in 5/10 years time.
Privatised if the tories win another GE, which is probably likely given the weak opposition they face.Dread to think where the NHS is going to be in 5/10 years time.
Hunts just proved that's not possible. The egotistical arsehole. It's time we had a grown up discussion about the NHS.
We are struggling to pay for it now without the inevitable increase in life expectency, dementia, diabities etc etc.
The grown up discussion seems to be do it my way by hook or by crook. It's time we had a grown up discussion about the NHS.

Yes, of course it is.Does anyone on here actually believe that the NHS is sustainable.
No one , even the nasty Conservatives ,have the guts to admit that with the ever increasing life expectency the NHS will eventually become unaffordable.
Well according to the King's Fund the decade between 2010 and 2020 the NHS will see/has seen the largest sustained decrease in funding as a percentage of GDP since 1951, so unless that is reversed then no. But that's a political choice.Does anyone on here actually believe that the NHS is sustainable.

You're making assumptionsLess people to do it so "stable" patients on the emergency list would have been bumped.

. Of course it's sustainable , we spend on what we choose. I'm doing ok put my tax up, increase upper tax bracket , scrap trident , tax google, ? Nhs levy on all multinationals it looks after and maintains the workers who produce their wealth , mansion tax , Increased inheritance and capital gains tax. Close off shore loop holes , tax flash motors over £40 k . Hit the rich unmercifully until we have enough .Does anyone on here actually believe that the NHS is sustainable.

Who are your other two mates like ?I'm looking forward to the usual two or three posters who are against this strike posting their utter tripe and non-factual arguments.
Doctors are the most easily replaced by machines to be fair. Every doctor I have been to over the last 2 years has used to Google.Doctors are the most important NHS workers. That isn't to say others aren't, but they're the medical expertise. That's why they're paid so much, that's why they're so important.
I have never claimed to be the expert on this. I'm not, but there were a number of posters the last time this came up who were arguing for the side of the government with false information - whether they knew that or not I don't know.
I read your posts with interest as you obviously have insight into the working of the NHS that said, to say yesterdays action had no effect is naive at best. Elective operating cancelled, training lists not carried out, outpatient clinics cancelled/delayed - apart from that it was a relatively quiet day in our black escalation NHS!!!!
The truth is out, that's why they're striking.
The post you're quoting is a link to Sky. Not that you ever bother reading facts provided for you, otherwise you wouldn't persist with your ignorant comments.
I'd like to know where it all is outside of a computer? Why is there suddenly a limited pot of money? Have you asked yourself where it all went?
It was quoting a post with red letters stating the independent.
The who did an investigation into the outputs vs government cost of all the health services worldwide and the NHS came out as the most efficient and still is completely free for users. I think they're doing OK.It's time we had a grown up discussion about the NHS.
