It takes 250,000,000 years for our Solar System to orbit the Milky Way...

Our solar system is 5,000,000,000 (billion) years old but everything in it has already been a star, lived a life and died, our life expectancy is 80.4 years.


If Earth’s lifespan was compressed into one year, then humans would have been around for only 2 seconds.
 
Confused now.
Is that because our solar system is very tiny?
Or is the Milky Way really really big?
It's all relative, to us the solar system is huge (no man made object has escaped it yet), but compared to the Milky way, it's tiny.
And compared with the known universe, the Milky way is just a spec of light.
