.. this weekend, is it as bad as I remember???
It's got a lot worse now, a mate still lives down there in the Folsil road area, there are regular running gun battles in the streets with the Albanians and Russians over drugs and prostitution now, it depends on where you are staying though I suppose, steer clear of Folsil road.
depends how old you are. in the 30's it was a right shithole but hitler largely cleaned it up
In my top 3 of worst places to stay for work, everything about the place is grim.
I'm afraid it's had limited charms when I've been there before. I think it suffered from the WWII damage leaving it open to the blight of post-war modern planning.
Don't forget to do your duty for all Sunderland fans and smash up the Jimmy Hill statue.
One if the few places I've been that has absolutely nothing going for it,shit place and awful people.
Hmm so its as bad as I thought, dont agree about the people though, good and bad everywhere!!
I'm getting the train down tommorow... got a meeting in bagington in the afternoon... what a nightmare - coventry is a dump.
where as sunderland is the garden of eden itself......
All towns have good and bad points man
i can walk around sunderland without getting hassled to give folk tabs / 50p for a cuppa every 20 yards.
I don't even think stevie really had Coventry in mind when he sang it.
During WWII whilst all the kids were being evacuated out of the place me mother was evacuated into Coventry.
I briefly went there in the 80s to check out a bit of famiy history vibe and didn't know how quick to get the hell outta Dodge. It must have improved since then - couldn't get any worserer.
If you're going to Coventry I'm not going to speak to you.
