Was it a wise move to ged rid of jones?,he would have been a perfect partner for gyan imo?
Jones is nowt but a lazy bastard.
Yes. Bruce wanted Jones out of the door from the moment he came in, didn't have the personality Bruce wants from a football player, and that's the end of that imo.
guessing brucie believed had talked him around
anyway, who cares? £24 MILLION
Scuffer Jones? The relative of Scuffer-but-better-at-scuffing-it-in Bent?
It was a very wise move to go out and get Gyan.
Jones has proved with his form at Stoke that it was an excellent piece of business on our behalf.
Who cant kick a ball properly.
This. Surely with hindsight Gyan was signed as a potential replacement for Bent rather than as a partner if Bruce thought Bent would leave
Gyan is a class above Bent and Jones. He is a far superior footballer and led the line superbly against Blackpool.
Bent is a finisher and nothing more, Jones is far too inconsistent - he's hardly set the world alight at Stoke, has he?
I'd much rather Bruce signs a stop gap stgriker to tide us over until summer, then get another big name in (Pavlyuchenko's got a few letters).
Doesn't necessarily need to be a big target man IMHO, just a different type of footballer that Gyan can play off and work with.
bent leaving would not of made jones less lazy
Getting shot of Jones is one of Bruceys best pieces of business imo
