Due an upgrade on Tuesday, this seems to be the frontrunner as to what I'm gonna get.
Yay or nay?
Wait a couple of months for when all the dual core phones are out
Go on a 30 day rolling contract in the meantime
Me current phone's on its arse, I dunno how long I can wait!
they start coming out in May.
When you say 'they', what phones are we on about?
I'm pretty out of the loop to be honest.
Samsung Galaxy S2
HTC Sensation will be out soon, like the Desire S but dual core.
and this. LG Optimus 2X
Why would anyone need a dual core phone? I've never once thought that my phone was slow. In fact, I've considered undervolting and underclocking to improve on battery life.
But dual core sounds good, innit?
Pointless unless there's going to be some amazing, cpu intensive apps to utilise the power, and even then, I can't see Pixar wanting to render Toy Story 4 on an effing phone.
I can't really think of any app I could use on a phone that I can't right now. Sat Nav is probably the most intensive thing I use and it works perfectly.
As a phone, it's not necessary. But the increasing use of HDMI and USB host mode opens up all sorts of stuff, like using it as a portable media centre. Then you'll want it to be able to decode the same movies your PC can, and play decent games on a big screen. Or using it as a portable "netbook" (running a proper browser, office suite, etc).
Personally speaking I can't wait for the Tegra 3 later this year, that's supposedly 3-5 times faster than the current fastest, and I've got all sorts of uses planned for that. I can see my laptop getting used much less.
I've got one and its great.does everything I need it to anyway
I've just bought the Desire HD, so anything more powerful is unnecessary. That is until I get a dual core, then it'll be the bee's knees!
Ooo, a new phone, your social standing will rocket.
Make sure you show people what it can do, we always love it, it is great.
Get ready for lots of sex and make sure when talking about it, you say it's full name and spec rather then just " phone!"
Good, as mine arrives on Thursday
To be honest I just wanted to ensure it wouldn't break as much as my current one!
That tends to afflict iGadget users more than any other.
'I'm just going to text such and such on my iPhone!'
