The greatest piece of music ever written? Discuss
What makes you say that? It has some fine riffs, but they are a bit clumsily put together.
It's a discussion board you wanker
fucking hell you aren't the bringer of jollity that's for sure. lighten up you moody bastard.
It is clumsy I know what you mean but every section, so to speak, is an epic overture of excellence
I like a bit of mars me like, jupiters canny n all .
I'll give them a relisten to check.
The whole thing is superb, but if I had to pick a movement then it would be Saturn or Uranus.
You're right the whole thing is superb. Probably one of the best classical albums ever actually and one of the most accessible
Vaughn William's 'Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis' is a bit amazing.
I can't listen to the entire work at one volume; Mercury, IIRC, is so quiet that you have to ramp it right up and then Mars right down. Not listened to it for years but I used to love it.
It's not even the best of the planets.
i agree with the op, brilliant. especially the bit in the middle.
WTF is this all about? I didn't realise such a thing existed and even if it did then I didn't realise they were the only person allowed to use the word 'discuss'.
It's a discussion form ffs ....... why instruct people to 'discuss' as if they're dummies?
Apart from ignoring the thread what other option is there?
I prefer Mars.
Nimrod pisses on Holst ..... Holst is for the lower orders.
A lot of people are saying different pieces from the planets its actually quiet good to hear peoples thoughts on a generally class album.
Well make your mind up... is the OP patronising as fuck or is he using a word reserved for the gliteratti?
Separate names with a comma.
