Jon Macken is making a comeback and stick a bet on Jamie Pollock to get the winner in the Champions League final next year.
Read on twitter about Iniesta, Messi & Rooney for £350,000,000
Rednapp is just being cute. He is/has bigged up City for sometime now. Who do they play tonight ?
If Spurs can finish above City then these comments make his achievement all the bigger.
See Redknapp is attempting to be clever here. He's overdoing Man City's chances in order to cover up the fact he's failed to get them into the Champions league and
I suppose it'd be better to see an English club blowing the others out of the water in the transfer market rather than Madrid doing it all the time.
The absolute best of the best will still stay in Spain though. I don't see how City are going to 'blow anyone's brains out' because however much they spend they won't be getting Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi or Iniesta.
And after those I can't really think of any brain-blowing players.
I'd imagine the sort of category they will be looking in is Aguero, Pato, Maicion?
It's probably just Redknapp bigging them up though to make finishing close to them look good.
The best players in the world are at likes of Milan clubs, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona. You don't leave those clubs to play for Manchester City unless you are solely motivated by money. Their only genuine world class player (Tevez) may well not be there next season either.
A dinar about that, Yaya Toure is some player
Good point about Tevez, that will set them back a lot before they even think about improving.
I think they would be able to tempt players from German and Italian clubs like, despite Inter winning it last year it seems unlikely you'd get much European success at those clubs now and the Italian league had lost a lot of it's glamour and attraction and Germany has never really had much anyway.
The true elite are Barca and Real, Man U can't even keep their players if either if those two come calling and City are nowhere near Utd in terms of reputation or prestige.
I just don't see City tempting their big players, they might be able to get a fringe player like they did with Robinho or one who is being edged out of the team like Toure*, but if Barca or Real want a player to stay they won't go to City IMO.
*I personally think Toure is a lot better than Busquets, but Barca clearly wanted to play Busquets instead, possibly to have a local in the team?
£1 billion for ronaldo and messi i reckon
I think it was an age thing with Toure - they could sell him at the top of the market, knowing that Busquets has emerged, is 6 years younger than Toure and won't want to spend 3 or 4 years as a bit part player waiting for Toure to go into decline.
City are signing Moaty?
