Just hovering below the play offs - I don't know how i'd feel how about this....
In what way?
Glad that justice has been done since the Mags led to their failing to get re-elected?
A good thing surely?
I support the likes of Hartlepool, Gateshead etc to a certain point. They're North-East clubs and that's nice but if they get TOO successful they might start eating into our support base.
No chance. Were top for the first ten games or so, hovered around the playoffs until just after christmas when they made a habit of spectacularly fucking up when leading games.
They are not ready. They will be fucked if they don't mind as Jon Shaw will otherwise leave in the summer. How do you replace his 30 odd goals at that level?!?
If they come back they should rename themselves South Shields because they stole their place.
I know exactly how I would feel about.
I think they have blown it with some daft home defeats, but they still have a chance and I still have hope.
The board of South Shields organised that move. Its a bit like leaving your keys in your car with the engine running and then moaning when it gets 'stolen'.
Won't happen sadly. Their arse has fallen out
The board had no choice as the Council owned ground at Simonside Hall had been sold to housing developers by the then Tory controlled council.
Aye but the fans didn't
I want them to get as high as possible.
I am sure you are right, but I thought we were talking about the move in 1930. Simonside Hall was not even built until 1951 and by then South Shields had no league place to 'steal'.
What's the percentage of mackems to geordies in Gateshead? I would say 25/75%?
Less than that from my experience.
It's the early 1970's mate I am going on about.
A memory of mine was my dad getting the fixture list booklet as then produced by S & N of South Shields, Newcastle and Sunderland from the Rose and Crown at Marsden for me before the season started in the late sixties.
Its 100% to zero in favour of Geordies. Some of the Geordies have taste and support Sunderland though
There are quite a lot of decent football fans in Felling though.
I know, I come from there originally, which is why I also follow Gateshead
Even though Felling was a seperate entity until the 1972 Local Governement re-organisation?
Separate names with a comma.
