Gas barbecues any tips

The trick with the gas one to get that distinctive barbeque taste is just to leave the meat on for too long and burn the fucker, then you get the same blackened, carcinogenic, overdone goodness you get from bog standard charcoal.
 
If you BBQ regularly then gas is the way to go. If you think it's just like food from the oven or grilled then you're not doing it right.

My tip though would be to make sure you bought a weber.
 
The brother in law invited the whole extended family around for a BBQ once. Two hours before everyone arrived he went out and bought a massive gas BBQ. He then got me to spend and hour and a half assembling the bloody thing for him. He then fired it up and proceeded to reduce all the food to carbon. It was a total disaster so do have a practice with it on cheaper cuts of meat it before you invite people round.
