Finally cemented my place as a Sunderland legend alongside Connor Wickham.
im a Blyth legend alongside Eddie Alder.
quite a few of my signing in the icon or favoured personnel now though
Got sick of my second season as SAFC boss. I was lying down in 15th after an incredible 1st season, my squad is mint aswell.
I'm going to try this Blue Square challenge.
scout like fuck before you sign anyone, money is precious down there so spend your money hiring a decent scouting team. and it will pay you back at a later date when you are selling your cheap signings for decent cash to higher placed teams.
decent strikers who will guarantee you goals until league 1 are Pablo Counago and Fergus Bell but both will cost a bit in wages, but do try to barter them down..and By any means necessary remove clauses for +25% yearly wage rise/promotion wage rise, they will fucking cripple you financially, Take the negotiations very carefully.
Don't buy on sentiment, he was good on last years/played for safc, you cant afford to be giving money to players on sentiment or past glories, scout them by all means but dont impulsively buy them.
like i say scout and scout and scout, you can pick up some excellent players for about £5k compensation if you look carefully enough.
secondly take control of arranging friendlies from your assistant manager.
fuck off any ones organised and play at home vs big clubs, in the BSN you can get about £90k a friendly if you play lower premiership or top end championship clubs, take those games as fitness runs as you arent going to win them.
for the week before the season starts arrange a few friendlies against regional sides like Canvey island/Ryhope CW etc to give yourself a chance to get some goals and to raise confidence for the season.
Use your squad depth and team reports to give yourself backup, theres nowt worse than having your left back injured for 6 months and having no other Left Backs.
Try and utilise the loan market, better still ask your board for a parent club straight away, usually you get a championship club, these loans are brilliant as the parent club just wants to get them football and you arent paying their wages.
Its a grind and a tough challenge but well worth it when you win something.
Might have to start selling some of my more valued players at Lowestoft. Made £750k profit on pre-season friendlies and we're still in the red. No idea how seeing as we've never bought anyone and our wage bill is still only 850K a year, half that of the next club.
Also has a knock on effect of not being able to upgrade the youth facilities or recruitment network, it's really frustrating.
Large signing on fees?
basically it looks like he just isnt getting enough through in gate receipts to justify wages.
you just have to balance the books and hope you get a few more supporters to support you.
I always push for cup runs and the prize money is an invaluable addition and saves having to sell a few players.
friendlies give a financial boost but its only in one months finances.
Our attendance isn't that bad to be honest. We sell out every game of around 5,000 or so (which is comparable to 10 or so teams in this division).
I think it's more on the sponsorship and merchandise where we're not really fulfilling our potential. A 5 year 50K per annum sponsorship deal the board signed a few years ago was a terrible bit of business.
That home grown rule is a fucking pile of shite when you are in the Champ League, I couldn't get my head round it so went on holiday for a day for my assistant to sort it and just went to play my 1st game and he's made a right cock up with it.
Left me with no left back eligible ( I only have 2 ) left out 3 of my centre mids and just generally fucked up
Too late now to do owt now like
For the ones trained at your club you don't need to have them. You can just leave spaces in your squad, ie only 21 registered.
Won the league :-D
1 point ahead of Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd. Tight finish.
Built a canny squad for next season. Cattermole, Rico, and a few others released.
1st attempt at game of fm12 and had a few teething problems. First got rid of Clemence for Tony Coton as my assistant manager. Cotons stats are around 15 for motivation and man management, cant remember exact ratings so gave him job of team talks.
He pissed off my entire squad and after 10 games was in bottom 3 with 5 points. Next gripe was the stupid tatic creator, despite the fact I was using 3 different tatics the game wasnt reading them and my team were playing awful.
Using the same tatics I was at a loss to why I was getting beat off Swansea 3-0 at home so entered the three tatics into the tatic creator. Since then Ive gone on a 5 game unbeaten run, highlight a 3-1 win over Liverpool.
Just seems stupid that the game wasnt reading my tatics until they were entered with the tatics creator and saved to build "familarity" This never had to be done in previous versions and should be highlighted a bit more I reckon.
Some French right/left winger for 2.9m - Going to be leading premiership winger according to Pop
Nene - 4m
Struggled to get rid of any deadwood only one I did was Killgallon for 650k loan fee and 80% wages covered.
Terminated loans of Kyrgiakos and Bridge, Krygiakos had decent stats as well bit of a stupid decision really but needed to reduce wage bill.
Sounds very similar to my game with the lads was in the bottom 3 till Christmas. Signed Adam Johnson and Yakuby (who scored 15 for me) finished 14th with also a 4-0 destruction of Newcastle.
Separate names with a comma.
