Apparently offered Bolton £7m for Cahill.....
You would think it's his own money he's spending.
not worth much more tbh, don't bolton want £18m
He won't up the bid either. Proper stubborn twat
Like he said though, if you don't want it then keep him and shut the fuck up. I was paraphrasing like.
Didn't Wolves pay £7m for Roger Johnson? If he's worth that then Cahill is worth £10m+.
It would massively improve Arsenals defence.
TBF I doubt is Wenger putting that bid in, he just would have identified the player and let the powers that be do the deal
What do you expect Arsenal to do anyway, just tell Bolton to name there price
All they are doing are trying to get him for as cheap as possible
The Chief Execs usually negotiate the money side don't they?
Out of contract at the end of the season. Fair bid for testing the water.
Did you miss the .99p off ?
Tremendous statement tbh.
He might be a annoying twat sometimes but for me to be able to keep Arsenal in the top 4 year after year with the budgets he has been working with the past 5 year is a very good achievement.
Compare the spend of Chelsea for instance and yet they dont find themselves that many points above them
"That number is completely wrong," said Wenger. "If Gartside can say I am lying I am ready to confront him."
The Frenchman added: "I believe every negotiation is between two parties and you only have to sell the player if you are all right with the price.
"In this case the information is below what has been spoken about."
Perhaps i've been watching a different Gary Cahill then.....are we talking about the 25 year old full England international who normally weighs in with 3 or so goals a season too. If Phil Jones is worth £16m then so is Cahill......tremendous defender imo.
Considering we're signing the best young centre-back in world football for £7m, it seems about right to me.
It's probably £7m upfront which makes a difference.
What a daft cunt
Fully agree, the man's a genius but there are times when you just need to get out there and get the right players in......his reluctance to spend has cost them big time these last 2 or 3 years...they could have easily won the PL last season with 2 or 3 astute additions.
As much as I admirer Venger not wanting to overspend on the player, he needs his services much more than on the pitch (none sexual).
The fans will again begin to believe that Venger knows what he's doing in the transfer market
