An English club who qualified for the champions league.
If we get another offer like the Henderson one then I'd sell.
Class player but someone earlier in the week on here made a good point about Colback. I'm not fully convinced he's going to become a more creative, goal-scoring midfielder which is what we really need him to be. Technically he is very good and retains possession better than any midfielder we have, though.
More than likely Man United. Hope we keep him he is quality. Would rather sell Cattermole than him.
If we get a £20m bid for him (unlikely, I know..) then I'd sell and re-invest.
that's the only way he'd get interest from chelsea.
He needs to stay at us for his own good. If he goes to Man Utd he won't start every week. If he goes to Arsenal he won't start every week. If he goes to Chelsea he won't start every week. Definitely won't start at City.
He's at the stage in his career when he needs to play regularly to develop his game. Even if an offer comes in we, and him, should reject it. One or two more years at Sunderland and he will be better equipped to move to a bigger club.
Agree, can see him becoming a Michael Carrick type of player (if he's not already)
would be gutted if we sold Colback.
Man Utd need a major transformation over the summer and it looks like they'll have to replace Darren Fletcher. Beside that, Scholes only has another season in him and they lost their title last season, a telling sign that new players are needed there.
As would most of us but it would not surprise me if he did leave. Clubs like Sunderland are just feeder clubs for bigger teams in this league, and will always be so until we have some real progress, a la Newcastle this season.
Who is Colback's agent?
Fucking hell, of course you would, I'd do that for any SAFC player
They'd be my bet for the team supposedly interested. Wonder if they would loan him back for a year until scholes and giggs retire?
IF it was true id imagine the club to be Arsenal as they (supposedly) bid for Joe Allen yesterday. If it was Arsenal I can't see them paying anything more than 8 mil
Agree with this like, he's become a good player this season (last season?) but how far will his development go, I'm not sure he has the confidence to be a creative force. Saying that he does his job very well.
It's not what we need him to be at all. Let Colback be Colback, and have that sort of player alongside him in the middle of the park.
Even for Henderson money I wouldn't be tempted, he's far and away the best central midfielder we have at the moment.
