Your having a mare son!!
He didn't give a free kick, mainly as Gomes had the ball in his hands.
If you take a free kick that's not given, you're probably going to concede.
TBF if you stop the ball with your hand the expected result would be for the ref to give a free kick
Fucking idiot commentators jumping on the back of the ref when he did nothing wrong.
You have to question why the linesmen raised his flag or whatever but you can't blame the ref here.
There's an old saying. It goes "Play to the whistle".
Gomes tried to award himself a free kick. He failed.
Well, you probably can. He should have given a free kick rather than missing the handball/giving an advantage for an obvious handball.
But you can't blame him half as much as the keeper who tries to give himself a free kick.
Haven't seen it yet, but it sounds almost as daft as the one we conceeded against Liverpool.
This is key to the fact that you are wrong in slagging clattenburg. He didn't give it. No free kick. Gomes at fault, acting the clown.
Similar but different, if you know what I mean. The main difference is that it wasn't a free kick, whereas ours was.
But similar confusion/defenders wandering about like bell ends.
Nani takes a dive, blatantly handles it on the ground, and it's waved play on. Awful from Clattenburg.
when clattenburg went to talk to the linesman they surely discussed the fact that nani had handballed it and therefore common sense would say that it shouldn't be a goal.
Spurs had the ball?
We kick off with refs for stopping the game every five minutes and now, when a ref decides to let the game flow and players start making up free kicks, they get the blame as well?
Fuck knows what they were discussing. Maybe why the lino decided to wave his flag around about a minute after the incident.
i accept the fact that according to the rules you are probably right but i can't be convinced that the goal should stand.
That's probably the biggest sentence of nonsense I've ever read...
He's played the advantage. Gomes made things up and ended up looking like a tool. Again.
Bizzarre goal but in all honesty the person at fault was Gomes imo.
The play was never stopped, Gomes had the ball in his hands so a better advantage than a free kick near the goal line. He then dropped the ball nearer to the edge of the box than where the hand ball was, Nani scored, perfectly good goal.
Regardless what happens with our game tomorrow, this will be the only thing Sky will talk about all day.
Why thank you sir!!
Looked to me like Gomes asked the ref if it was a free-kick. I assume he got the nod it was. Or he assumed the ref gave the nod. He was saying the same as they walked off 'I watched you' or something he was saying.
That's between Gomes and him. But it looked like he was saying play on/you have the advantage to me.
To be fair, I suspect the lino had probably assumed the Ref wouldn't be such a fucking divvy. It had all the hallmarks of a "Wait. Eh? Hang on! HANG ON!!!" flag waving to me.
Well it should've been stopped for Nani to get a yellow card. There were two incidents in a matter of seconds that the ref either somehow didn't see or chose to ignore. Both of them were deserving of a booking, and seeing as Spurs were in their own box, there wasn't going to be much of an advantage to give by playing on, and going back to book the player later.
