and those that contain bad language. If they were banned from English football grounds, what would be your reaction? Now when I say offensive, I don’t mean those chants that we all know should be banned (racist or about tragedy etc), but those that could be argued as harmless banter between fans (‘in your Liverpool slums’ for example). The reason I ask is given the new legislation in Scotland which the SNP are trying to force through; fairly innocent chants which are nothing more then ‘banter’ could be banned. One Hibs fan yesterday said that the legalisation could mean its illegal for Hibs fans to sing ‘feed the weegie’s, let them know its xmas’ should they visit Glasgow at xmas time. Surely thats going OTT? We've sung that chant when Everton have played at the SOL close to xmas (and no doubt it will appear on boxing day as well!) Obviously Scotland has unique problems with chanting, but could we see similar laws introduced into England? It could be argued by the authorities that it would make football grounds totally family friendly. Btw, can we not turn this into an Old firm thread as it will only end up being pulled by the mods.
