Not much of a shock to be fair.
If were looking to bring a couple of strikers in, considering they'll both probably be short term measures I think SKP would be ideal
Probably the nostalgia taking over, but I'd have him back in a shot until the end of the season.
It was a bad idea. Never go back, it never works.
Did you read a 'not' in there?
take out the fact that it's Phillips, if Bruce signed a 36 year old Birmingham reserve this board would expode
I'd have him back but I can understand why Bruce might have said no
Aye, in that interview Quinny gave he was saying that we wouldnt be looking to sign Keane because we really wanted to get someone in who had a bit of presence up front, so at that point i figured we'd say no to Phillips as well like. Birmingham reserve or not, i'd have happily seen him back as cover for a few months tbh, they do say not to go back but in this case he wouldnt be returning as a starting striker or owt, so peoples opinions of him wouldnt be tainted if he didnt get goals but anyway, no doubt just nostalgia talking!
Would love him back, but Fuller would be the better signing, I think, in football terms.
Saying that, haven't seen Phillips for eons so not sure just how good he is now. Only seems to get 5-10 minutes now and again?
Could never see him coming back to be honest he's nowhere near the Brum 1st team and there's nothing to suggest he can do it at this level anymore. Nostalgia ain't a good reason to sign someone.
Was never really a serious suggestion. Would have been great for the fans, but his wife doesn't want to live up north. Also could upset the sense of team spirit having someone "special" like that in the side.
