Looking for some advice, as I'd like to fix this myself if poss. Got a 54 plate Mondeo 2.0 TDCI that is chucking out a ton of black smoke if I accellerate hard. It smokes a bit at high revs in general, but its always done that (although its 25% worse now), but its these massive plumes of black smoke that I'm worried about. It never used to do this, its just in the last month or so. I've heard that changing the fuel filter, and pre-filling it 50% with Forte can help to clean the injectors. Also planning an oil change tomorrow, as despire a recent service, the oil looks very black. Anything else simple that can be done before it goes into a garage? Disclaimer: When I say "I want to fix", I mean I want to buy the stuff, and then get my dad to do it, as he's the car-man of the family, not me!
