Went last weekk , worth a look if youve never been
Hawes mackem swims in it
That's where Kevin Cosner fought Friar Tuck iirc.
its nee High Force
I think High Force is the highest single 'drop' of any waterfall in England, and it is a canny sight. But my favourite local-ish one is up Alston way, near a village called Garigill, called Ash Gill Falls.
It's not a huge drop (but quite respectable), and you can walk behind the cascade. Because it's off the beaten track you can camp there as well - or at least you could in the eighties, when we used to have some fun weekends in the mushroom season.
Hardraw falls is also worth a look at a 100 ft drop !
High Force is shit.
It's just some running water
Yorkshire Dales are Britains best kept secret.
Well I've heard of them
a few on here might know that place, might explain the f-off hill we cycle up just after it
You are correct
People wank off over The lakes etc
The Dales is far quieter and less expensive
See you all in june then
Excellent, especially good for a plodge with the kids at the lower falls and don't forget the little cafe right near the bridge, great home made cakes !!
Love the place.
