If results stay the same, we're guarenteed 14th. Progress?
where did we finish last season and what definition of progress are you using?
Is this a serious thread?
No. Not even close; regardless of the result against West Ham.
13 so i would say no its not.
How are we measuring progress?
forward or onward movement towards a destination or development towards an improved or more advanced condition, according to Oxford Dictionary..
Based on what we know and see, I would say we've regressed. At least this time last year we had a striker capable of planting 20 a goals a year in opposition's nets.
Well we were 13th last season............
Not only have we gone backwards this season, we've done so with a team thats half borrowed.
When the squad 'resets' itself and the loan players leave we've gone even further backwards.
At the minute we are guaranteed to finish no lower than 14th. Can finish as high as 9th.
I think the way we spend the Bent money will dictate how well the overall season went.
We have to wait until next week. Yes, I am very unconfident about getting anything but if we won then the position and points would represent some progress.
Points wise we could still finish as high as 9th, but going by our current form I think we'll be finishing in 14th. With regards to progress, I'd say we've taken at least one step back, maybe even two by selling our two strikers from the previous season.
Yes it was a serious thread, with a quite simple question (which some people clearly struggle with).
Personally, I just hope that we get to reinvest the Darren Bent money in the summer. If Ellis Short is as serious as he comes across in interviews, then we should get it and more.
Knocked out the league cup by the worst team in the Premier League who hadn't won away for over a year, knocked out of the FA cup by a lower League 1 side, Fulham not winning away for 33 games and getting a 3-0 win, Wolves with the worst away record in the PL getting a 3-1, letting a 20 goal a season striker leave when he wanted to, looking like a team devoid of steel and a strong spine for over half the season. All in all, poor despite spunking millions on players and salaries. If I was the owner, I would mention the above and see what the manager has to say.
no one on here can grasp sarcasm it seems
I'm sure he has asked those questions. We are not privvy to Bruce's answers. Obviously they have convinced Short.
I suppose another season in the prem is progress. However given the money we've spent, it's not brilliant.
