RIP Did any of you guys know him ?
Have met him a few times. Over the last few years you could see him walking about the streets of Belfast looking absolutely terrible. I'm afraid his death was only a matter of time. However he left behind many happy memories. More than a touch of the George Best about him- must be something to do with the Belfast air, or more likely, the Belfast beer.
Bit of a sweeping statement many a non Belfast man been taken by the drink, think it was the fags that got Alex in the end
50,000 expected at his funeral today.
Attended Alex's funeral in my capacity as a Belfast City Councillor. Impressive event. Lots of snooker dignitaries such as Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Willie Thorne, John Virgo, Ken Doherty etc. Cathedral was packed, with thousands outside. People were remembering his good times.
