... written by an Asian lad ,
Must be a right fanny on for him and countless others at times.
Whilst I'm not Asian, I will add that when I entered the USA at JFK, I was advised by the fella who picked me out of the line for the old frisking routine not to wear baggy clothing next time. I was wearing a pair of grey jogging bottoms that I'd bought assuming they'd be comfortable to wear on a long flight.
Tedious whingeing get, I've been stopped and my bags gone through / turned out and I'm not a Hussein or swivel eyed loony lookalike.
Gap year spoilt twat as well ... I hope he's refused re-entry.
I'm all for racial profiling at airports. It makes sense.
As most of the bomb plots and hijackings which have led to even stricter security have been carried out by asian or arabic males. Why is it suddenly racist to select them for searching?
I know somebody who used to have two passports, one for travelling to America and the other for travelling to the Middle East.
He had just been to Kuwait when he was going Plane Spotting in America, he took the wrong passport and spent the day in Immigration, as his middle east passport had some great stamps in it.
I've often been stopped and searched. I'm not of Pakistani descent.
I have a persian friend who seems to be searched more regularly. His sense of humour involves leaving 'wires' protruding from his rucksack though.
I'd bang him up straight away.
Have you told him he's not very funny?
If i was working the security he wouldn't be getting on his flight tbf.
I don't think he's said that.
I'm fairly sure he says "I get it." in the article and he's actually just poking fun at himself/the whole thing.
Yeah, his article didn't state that, I know. But it's banded about a hell of a lot over airport security checks.
He's not like, he's blaming everyone else and taking absolutely no responsibility for being Pakistani.
If I monitored people's sense of humour, I'd never be off here.
Going through Dubai airport I got stopped, searched and questioned on three different occasions. Was such a pain in the ass. My Boss who I was with had organised all the hotels and we got separated, so when they were asking me where I was staying all I knew was the Holiday Inn, nothing else like which one etc, which they found very suspicious. After that I've organised all my own hotels etc
Look at me, look at me, I get attention at airports.
Just after 9/11 the security was obviously ramped up to maximum. One member of a a stag party at Leeds/Bradford airport decided it would be funny to make a 'joke' about a bomb in his bag when checking in.
He didn't find it very funny when staring down the barrel of an airport police firearm a few minutes later.
Airport security is simple.
Brown people for explosives. White and hispanic people for drugs. Black people for fake passports and no oriental asians allowed as they're dangorous weapons with their crazy martial art skills.
I've had my luggage searched coming through American customs a few times. I take it as the perils of someone under 30 travelling alone out of season.
under what grounds?
