Is it just me who thinks it is about time some of the British youngsters showed some bloody balls and some ambition and move abroad? Sorry to once again use Matt Derbyshire as an example but it does actually proove my point. Here is a lad who was obviously a good goalscorer but was not getting chances as a result of overpaid foreigners like Benni McCarthy keeping him out of the side at Blackburn. He allowed his contract to run out and decided to try better his carear by going abroad. Granted he has only moved to to the Greek league, but as a result he is playing for the top side there and now playing Champions league football. By all accounts he is scoring goals and enhancing his reputation and value. I am sick of seeing tto many youth or fringe players prepared to sit it out on the benches season after season and not get a chance. It is only because of Vidic and Ferdinands injury that Jonny Evans was given a chance, and only by moving to Birmingham on loan did Joe Hart get a chance. Joe Hart needs to move from Man City if he is going to realisticly challenge and make the England keepers shirt his own in the next few seasons. There are many younger players who are only too happy to play lower level league football here, rather than going to try gain experiance abroad. If a player is playing for Leicester in the Championship and another is doing equally well at Besiktas, Olympiakos or Feyenored, I know who would have a better chance of being picked for their country.
