plus ca change........
It's taken them until November to work this out?
i still hope he does well for them
glad he had a quiet day against us and glad he tortured the mags
you dont get much for £8m
clowns. dont they know he is great defensively and just needs service and he will score 20 plus this season for stoke
the new drogba
If KJ could be arsed in every game and performed like he did at times for us when he was breathtakingly brilliant he wouldn't be at Sunderland right now, nor would he be at Stoke.
I actually think that when he's at the top of his game he is a world beater, but he's not our problem any more as we have Gyan who seems to have a fantastic work ethic from what I have seen and nothing needs to be said about Darren Bent.
very surpised he didnt torture us, though tbf he would have had at least 1 goal if not for cattermole
Quite simple really - Jones is not a natural footballer. He doesn't link with other players and doesn't have much awareness. He can be dangerous on one of his good days because of his natural athleticism and strength but lacks the skill, touch and powerful shot to be a top quality player.
For Kenwyne to work well, he needs a striker who is prepared to run beyond him into channels. To be honest I heard Tuncay's name mentioned prior to kickoff and that was about it.
All in all though, didnt have a great game and Bruce was vindicated in his decision to get rid and replace him with Asamoah.
Thats probably one thing he doesn't get credit for to be honest. Other than that you are wrong ... he's the new Andy Carroll man!
Interesting that they too are saying that "he didn't get the right service", just like some of his biggest fans on here, they think it's the rest of the teams fault that he has no impact on a game, and he is not being used properly.
Thought he was poor on saturday..... which is a relief, as i thought if he was gonna be fired up for any game ever it would have been against us. Which again proves how dis-interested he is generally!!!!!!!!!!
Hmmm he hasnt had much service has he nee delap throws nee pennat on the wing. And he still nearly scored twice on saturday.
Jones just jumps and heads it with no clue of where it is going. Not a patch on someone like Kevin Davies (his header to Petrov for fourth goal against Tottenham was superb) or......whisper it......Andy Carroll. More like Ameobi if truth be told. Big, strong but no understanding or awareness.
That's one thing that I think is misrepresented with Kenwyne. I don't see him as a can't be arsed player, that tends to suggest that he chooses not to perform. He needs motivating to get the best out of him, and would probably blossom under someone like Harry Rednapp.
He's the football equivilent of a high maintainance girlfriend/wife.
7 defeats from 11 games
safc 2-0 stoke
jones at the moment is taking them to the next level. hopefully the championship
Thats the point though, how often did you see Tuncay running into space, with Kenwyne failing to flick the ball on? If the ball is coming up from the back, then you need another striker prepared to work hard also.
To be honest I just think Tony Pulis picked a shit team on Saturday. He puts Kenwyne up front, and then didnt bother to pick anyone who can deliver a cross. Both of his chances came from corners, which pretty much tells you everything you need to know ... they were never going to create any decent chances from open play.
Hes never a player that will carry a team like say bent did last season. Doesnt mean he isnt a good player, on his day like many have said many times he is unplayable. Stoke as a team are struggling atm, he isnt the level of player that can carry a team that is struggling.
Pulis is very good at getting the best out of his players, He was Redknapp's protege, I just think he is too laid back to make it at the very top.
That's the point from Spargel though. It's more a case of someone having to run onto Jones' knockdowns and flicks rather then him directing them onto the runs.
they spent £8 million on him, to take them, through his goals, to the next level
in the last three seasons, could you list the games where jones was "unplayable" and safc won.
i remember one offhand down west ham and we lost
