I posted a compare and contast thread at the time and I think my conclusion was that O'Neill was my preferred choice but there wasn't much in it. I'm probably in the same camp now. I am concerned about our lack of transfer activity and I've got gripes about O'Neills apparent unwillingness to look abroad as I think it's restricting our targets.....on the other hand I wouldn't like Hughes method of spending ridiculous wages on players who I don't think are worth it. The parasite would be an unwelcome by product of having Hughes too.

O'Neill still has to prove himself with us and i'm starting to expect us to be the only club he ever fails at.....as that would be typical of safc in my lifetime......but I do think he is the best manager we could have hoped for.

In many respects Hughes seemed a more modern manager. I was also concerned that the fire might have gone out with MON. The problem with Hughes is that he is such a dislikeable piece of work. Frankly, I just hate the fella. Add Joorabchian into the mix and he was never going to be the choice for me.

You have no idea regarding his transfer targets, same as everyone else one here ("apparent" doesnt get you off the hook)

Pretty much this for me as well.

For all O'Neill is lauded as a miracle worker on here there isn't a lot of difference between the two. If Hughes didn't have the Joorabchian baggage he carries with him I'd still prefer him to O'Neill now, but I wouldn't want that shady bastard anywhere near our club in all honesty.

Absolutely no comparison. MON is the best manager we have had in my lifetime, and I've all the faith in the world in him to do well.

I wanted Hughes at the time purely in hope that he could repeat what he done at Blackburn.

Happy with MON then and now.

Errrrmmmm, I don't know what I'm supposedly getting off the hook with but....

From the what we know about who he is targeting and based upon his previous signings throughout his career it is APPARENT that he doesn't like to make a lot of non British/British based signings.

I don't see how you could possibly take issue with that.
