I guess i bought my first property at the right time in 2000.

More than doubled my money on that place so have always been fortunate enough to have a decent ammount of equity.

I do both - we've a few properties in Slovakia / Hungary which is my retirement home and fund. We just rent here in Brno though as the prices are ridiculous and I don't intend on living here all the time

I don't understand the stigma either. For a lot of people it's a sensible option as generally you can't live for free as an adult.
