Don't have a problem with that, we move jobs for money all the time, but it's the bubble these fuckers seem to live in that's getting on my tits, today especially. From Ashley Cole spouting that "you can't speak to JT like that" to Gyan spouting that we love him and listen to his music.

Absolutely, I'd have done the same thing, I can't lie. It's not that that irritates me, so much as him coming out saying "I really love/loved it at Sunderland" or "I had no choice in the matter, I had to leave" or whatever. Just man up, say "They were going to pay me an insane amount of money, and I couldn't turn it down", and I'd have a lot more respect for the man.

They wouldn't. Put it this way, Gyan is decent but he's far, far from a world beater. If "everyone" would go to Al Ain for massive money then the incredibly rich buggers in charge there would be getting the cream of football to join them. If they think Gyan is worth 200k or whatever a week imagine what they'd pay to take Rooney (not one of the worlds best but certainly one of the most recognisable players) or Ibrahimovic and people like that. Instead its pretty much just Gyan who has made his way over there.
Most players are more than comfortable with the money they can make as PL/ La Liga players and actually want to have the best career they can whilst still earning millions, most (despite being greedy gits of course) have grown up dreaming of playing in the top leagues and in the top european competitions and they don't throw that away for the chance to make even more money that, if they are sensible with the sizable sums they can make in the PL, they simply don't need.

What an absolutely f@ckin deluded kunt. Christ, him and Bent - what a pair. Bruce really knew how to judge the character of a player before signing him. Did an equally good job with Amir Zaki at Wigan iirc. Never wanna hear this tit's name mentioned ever again.

Blame Gyan for engineering the move, I blame the club for handling it so badly.

Thing is with Gyan though he has found a level where he does not have to apply himself. He does not have the mentality to keep his fitness levels high enough and weight down to be a top performer in the best leagues, so won't ever make the top top coin in them. I m sure I read he does nt even play for Ghana anymore as he is on a break from international football. He IMO clicked early he did nt like having to keep himself in top condition and this played a small part in him moving to a shit league as well as the huge wage packet.
